5 tips for making the most of your Shout Expo delegate pass

Visiting a Shout Expo exhibition with a free delegate pass should involve more planning than simply allocating the time and working out travel arrangements if you want to maximise business opportunities during your visit.

Here we offer five top tips for expert planning and making the most of your Shout Expo delegate pass.

Engage in social media

Before, during and after a Shout Expo exhibition we, our exhibitors and visitors make a significant amount of noise on social media using the expo hashtag. This opens up a wealth of opportunities for conversations around who will be exhibiting, who is attending and what can be expected from the event. Through these conversations you can connect with many new contacts.

Bring business cards

Whether they are of the small board variety or digital, make sure you have your business card ready to give to valuable contacts, so they know how to get in touch after the event.

Relax and enjoy

Enjoy the experience! Try to spend as long as possible at the expo rather than rushing or just ‘popping in’. A Shout Expo exhibition is the perfect opportunity for getting to know new connections by taking the time to speak to as many people as possible throughout the event. As well as visiting stands, why not relax with a drink in the café area and chat with other people doing the same? It will also give your feet a rest!

Study the brochure

Every Shout Expo exhibition has a brochure, either printed or digital. The exhibition brochure promotes all exhibitors so before walking around the hall, take a look at who is exhibiting and mark particular stands of interest. This will help you prioritise who to make time to talk to at the event.

Follow up on contacts made

Within 48 business hours of the event, it is advisable you contact all new interesting contacts made. Memories can be short so you should make an impact quickly by reminding your new contact of your conversation and requesting a meeting or sending further information. Getting in touch quickly shows you are proactive and keen to collaborate. For information about Shout Expo events, go to www.shoutexpo.com.
